2006 "Brappy" Award for Most Innovative Design & Engineering

Norwood, MA - (AMN) Analog Devices, Inc. announced that ARITRONIX, LTD. of Phoenix, AZ has selected the company's ADXL202 high-performance, High-accuracy, dual-axis accelerometer for use in high-quality electronic security and anti-theft systems for the motorcycle industry.

The ADXL202 accelerometer will be designed into the ARITRONIX GSN-100 Stand-alone "smart-inclination" sensor, sold worldwide to industry-leading motorcycle manufacturers such as Yamaha and the Harley Davidson Motor Company.

"A motorcycle alarm system must function with a high degree of accuracy and sensitivity in an exceedingly complex, challenging environment," said Moshe Dolev, managing director, ARITRONIX. "Analog Devices' ADXL202 accelerometer is the ideal sensor for motorcycle security because of its low power consumption, environmentally friendly technology, small form factor, and ease of implementation."

"We believe that Analog Devices' unique approach to integrated surface micromachined manufacturing (iMEMS)(R) provides the best price/performance solution for dual-axis, low g acceleration sensors, enabling the development of the industry's most innovative alarm systems," said Christoph Lemaire, business development engineer, Analog Devices.

About the ADXL202
The dual-axis ADXL202 accelerometer, an EDN Magazine 1998 "Innovation of the Year" award winner, measures motion, shock, vibration, and tilt in two axes. The ADXL202 integrates signal conditioning circuitry with the mechanical sensor structure on a single chip for use in industrial and consumer applications. ADI's accelerometers are widely used in the automotive industry as airbag crash sensors as well as for anti-theft systems and tractor/trailer rollover warning systems.
